The South Lake Boat Landing is located in the Inyo National Forest and features a full store of tackle, snacks, beverages and film. South Lake is stocked by the California Department of Fish and Game, as well as the famous Eagle Lake Rainbows. In addition, South Lake Boat Landing has a very aggressive rearing program Big Bad Brown Trout. South Lake has become famous for these monsters of the deep. South Lake is an easy 20 miles west of Bishop, California and sits at an elevation of 9,800 feet.
